DeleteJust curious, why were the comments removed?
DeleteThe comments from 2016 were deleted because they related specifically to the special category we had for that show, and were no longer relevant.
DeleteI don't remember why your comment from 2018 was deleted.
What if I just want to look and buy from vendors, is there a charge
DeleteThere is no charge for admission.
DeleteDo y'all plan to go back to the late September date, or is this the way it's going to be from now on?
ReplyDeleteIn the recent past, we were constrained by the facility to late August. Several people expressed a preference this time. A couple of months back we were offered by the facility managers our old late September date, but we turned it down because we were already set up for the August date. If you prefer the September date, I invite you to let us know, maybe we can take a poll and try for Sept next year. Thank you for your input. Skip Hassler
DeleteSince nobody else has answered, I will. The answer is, we don't know. It depends. At least partly on what dates the Jaycees make available to us. Do you like September? Why?

ReplyDeleteThese questions were answered via an email exchange. Thanks.
DeleteI apologize for not answering you here. For some reason I am not getting notifications from Blogspot about new comments.
DeleteJust got back from Scottcon down in Macon. The junior category had 15 or so entries. Would you guys consider adding more Junior categories?
ReplyDeleteNot this year, but we revisit our attendance and entry statistics and if we get enough, we may do that.
DeleteHas the Alabama tax form question been answered? I am not a business. I hate to say it, but dealing with those forms is not worth the trouble to me.
ReplyDeleteThe tax forms are a part of using the Jaycee's building, and I understand other local shows that have a vendor component are required to give them forms out.
DeleteFrom out discussions with the State tax office, "casual" sellers (people not doing this for a business) do not owe taxes. The city and county still want their taxes.
