October Meeting Minutes

       The October 2018 meeting of the HPMS was called to order on 1 October, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.  There were 12 attendees.  The meeting minutes for the September 2018 were read and approved.

Old Business

       There were a couple of situations that were brought to the floor during the September meeting that were addressed in this months meeting.  The storage of the assets related to the annual are contest are going to be stored in storage unit that Tom Clark has.  The project for a new banner is still being investigated by Tom Clark.

       The chapter has sent a donation to the IPMS chapter in Puerto Rico.

       There were numerous E-mails generated regarding a donation to support for Region 12 of IPMS.  This was discussed and a donation of $100.00 was approved and will be sent.

       The narrative regarding the Chattanooga Special Award was composed by Martin Burky and sent to the Chattanooga chapter.  Thank you for work on this matter Martin.

       As mentioned in the September meeting minutes flowers in the form of a wreath were purchased for the funeral of Randall Cox's father.  The chapter has received a gracious 'thank you' note from the family.

      Build Night is 15 October, 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at The Deep Comic Book and Game store. 

Show and Tell

Martin Burkey - Polar Lights Federation Ship Grissom and Klingon Bird of Prey; Banda Death Star, TIE Advanced Fighter and Tie fighter.  All these are very small scale, about 1/1000th.  KA Models 1/48th scale F-15 aircraft exhausts.

Bruce O'Gorman - 1/1000 scale USS Defiant (Star Trek Deep Space 9).  Work in Process - Filled seams and light leaks, ready for gloss coat, panel accents, decals, final coat, and mounting on base.

Andy Brezinski - 1/72nd scale Apollo 27.  Converting rocket into a land speed record car.  Rotated side rockets about 20 20 degrees lower to become wheel pods, 4th rocket is now front wheel pod.

Ken Denza - AMT 1/25th scale 1937 Chevy coupe (Pro Street).  Used 1941 Willys chassis, stretched and narrowed, wired engine and electric fan.  Added brake line, master cylinder, seat belts, side view mirror, tail lights, aluminum blower bonnet, and valve covers.  Also added battery box, aluminum steering column.  Used bare  metal foil on some surfaces.

Barbara Denza - 1/25th scale 1949 Mercury Station Wagon.  Lots of aftermarket parts, fuel lines, oil line, wired engine, and alternator.  Testors One Coat lacquer Mystic Emerald.
